Electrogastrogram -
broaden your scope of diagnoses in
Today's world of
gastrointestinal disorders!
The Electrogastrogram is a device which is
designed to help detect and develop specific treatments for motility
disorders in the gastrointestinal tract. Patients will often present
with nausea, abdominal pain, vomiting, bloating, or other digestive
disorders. Following an initial Endoscopic examination, most of the
time, there is still no diagnosis made for these conditions. When this
occurs, the disorder is usually the result of the disorder in the
electrical activity and/or motor function of the gut. The
Electrogastrogram device measures this electrical activity.
In these cases, the Electrogastrogram
motility
testing has been
shown to aid in four types of gastric diagnosis - Gastric
Dysrhythmia ( bradygastria, tachygastria,
mixed gastric
Dysrhythmia ) - Mixed
Dysrhythmia in Patients with GERD plus dyspepsia symptoms - Strong 3
cpm seen in Gastric Outlet Obstruction - Normal Electrogastrogram - Rational
Treatment approaches due to new Electrogastrogram diagnosis. Some investigators
have also found that Electrogastrogram may also be of assistance in
diagnosing other intestinal disorders, bladder disorders, Children
with Angelman Syndrome, as well as
endometriosis. "This technology, represents one of the more advanced
diagnostic tools available in the field of neurogastroenterology.
Now the EGG is showing to be useful in Neonatal diagnosis!
